Louis Sabo Collection

The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County is the repository of the photographs of Lou Sabo, which document South Bend and St. Joseph County in over five hundred black and white silver prints produced over the last fifty years. It is comprised of architectural studies of new, as well as historic structures, plus streets, parks, neighborhood overviews, and photographs of the small towns and scenic landscapes of the county. It is kept current with new photos added monthly.

The public is welcome, and encouraged, to view the portfolios of prints at the Historic Preservation Commission office.

Through a special arrangement with the St. Joseph County Public Library, the majority of the collection, as well as additional prints, may be accessed digitally through the St. Joseph County Public Library's Michiana Memory project. Search: louis sabo collection. Also see, LouSabo.com.
